Baseball Recap: Grand Terrace Has No Trouble Against Jurupa Valley

Grand Terrace won the last time they faced Jurupa Valley and things went their way on Monday too. The Titans put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 10-1 win. Grand Terrace's victory was all the more impressive since the Jaguars were averaging only 4.08 runs allowed on the season.

Noe Villanueva tossed a big game, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Grand Terrace is 4-2 when Villanueva allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Grand Terrace got a massive performance out of Vasili Kazaltzes, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave Kazaltzes a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Jahen, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Grand Terrace now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Jurupa Valley, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-4 record.

Grand Terrace has already played their next matchup, an 8-6 loss against Rialto on the 2nd. As for Jurupa Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-7 defeat against Patriot on the 1st.
