Basketball Recap: North Dorchester Comes Up Short

North Dorchester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a hard 48-31 fall against the Mardela Warriors. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2020.

Despite the loss, North Dorchester saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Remdy Wongus dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards. Wongus is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Diamond Newbill, who posted 12 points.

North Dorchester's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Mardela, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

North Dorchester has already played their next match, a 69-4 loss against Queen Anne's County on the 4th. As for Mardela, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-31 defeat against Pocomoke on the 4th.
