Volleyball Recap: Olivia Kennedy and Brogan Hawkins Secure Win for Advance

Advance won the last time they faced Oran and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hornets put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Advance not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Oran between 13 and 16 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13, 25-15.

Advance was led to victory by Brogan Hawkins and Olivia Kennedy. Hawkins had five digs and five aces, while Kennedy hit 64.7% for 11 kills and seven digs and two aces. The last time Kennedy's hitting percentage was this high was back in October of 2024.

They weren't the only good server: Advance was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Advance's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Oran, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Advance will face off against Winona at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Oran, they will square off against New Madrid County Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
