Basketball Recap: Central Starts off Right with Win over Sheffield

Central had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They took down the Sheffield Bulldogs 52-38. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 47-44 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Central found their leader in sophomore Isla Hardy, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 20 points and eight boards. Hardy has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Jill Huffaker was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Coming up, Central is taking a road trip to square off against Hardin County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sheffield, they will welcome Rogers at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
