Softball Recap: Lorena Comes Up Short

Lorena managed to slip by Gatesville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Leopards lost 16-6 to the Hornets on Tuesday.

Isabella Davis made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Holly Barrett, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Lorena's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 17-8. As for Gatesville, they pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

While Lorena had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
