Basketball Game Preview: Goodland Cowboys vs. Holcomb Longhorns

Goodland has won eight straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Holcomb has won eight straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. Goodland will be strutting in after a win while Holcomb will be coming in after a defeat.

Goodland will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Hugoton, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Goodland managed a 51-45 victory over Hugoton two weeks ago. The 51-point effort marked the Cowboys' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Holcomb's undefeated season came to an end after five games two weeks ago. They fell just short of Scott by a score of 54-52. The loss was the Longhorns' first of the season.

Goodland's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Holcomb, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Everything went Goodland's way against Holcomb in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Goodland made off with a 62-40 victory. Does Goodland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Holcomb turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
