River Ridge had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Cherokee Warriors by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-21, 21-25, 25-17.

When it comes to explaining why Cherokee lost, don't look at Haley Mendoza. Despite the final result, she had 25 digs and 11 kills. Mendoza is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.

River Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against South Forsyth on the 8th. As for Cherokee, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Cartersville on the 8th.
