Delta posted their closest victory since September 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers 5-3. For Delta, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 defeat Montezuma-Cortez walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August.

Lily Gallegos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. What's more, she also racked up five strikeouts, the mostshe's had since back in August.
