Basketball Game Preview: Seeger Patriots vs. Parke Heritage Wolves

Seeger hasn't had much luck against Parke Heritage recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Seeger Patriots will face off against the Parke Heritage Wolves at 7:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Seeger was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-50 to Covington.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Payton Ford, who posted seven points and five boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Macyn Hughes, who put up nine points.

Even though they lost, Seeger smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Parke Heritage waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 78-27 win over the Mustangs. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Mustangs are ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Parke Heritage found their leader in sophomore Carter Crum, who made all 7 shots he took for 17 points and six boards. Crum is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 75% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brenden Goins, who scored ten points and three steals.

Parke Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Seeger, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Seeger was dealt a bruising 69-42 loss at the hands of Parke Heritage in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Seeger avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
