Basketball Game Preview: Newman Fighting Cardinals vs. Lakeland Thunderbirds

The Newman Fighting Cardinals will venture away from home to challenge the Lakeland Thunderbirds at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Newman is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Newman came up short against Prentice and fell 65-57.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Lakeland challenged Shawano Community on Tuesday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, Lakeland made off with a 47-46 victory over Shawano Community.

Newman's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Lakeland, their win bumped their record up to 9-13-1.

Newman strolled past Lakeland in their previous matchup back in January of 2021 by a score of 66-48. Will Newman repeat their success, or does Lakeland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
