Basketball Recap: Jo Byrns Takes a Loss

Jo Byrns extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 5-16. The contest between the Red Devils and the Trousdale County Yellowjackets didn't end well, with the Red Devils falling 42-23. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-28 last Friday.

As for Trousdale County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points over those games.

Cayden Ray had an outrageously good game as she went 7-for-12 to rack up 20 points along with seven boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Madeline Wilson, who posted eight points and six assists.

Jo Byrns does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trousdale County, they will square off against Merrol Hyde Magnet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellowjackets' defense better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 52 points per game this season.
