Volleyball Recap: Northside - Jacksonville Comes Up Short

It was a classic North v. South duel when Northside - Jacksonville took on Southwest Onslow on Monday. The Monarchs lost 3-0 to the Stallions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stallions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 two weeks ago.

While Northside - Jacksonville was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Northside - Jacksonville still got an impressive performance from Sa'Niyah Serrano, who had 17 assists and five digs. Serrano has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more assists the last four times she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Northside - Jacksonville and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Southwest Onslow, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside - Jacksonville will challenge White Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southwest Onslow, they will square off against Kinston at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
