Football Recap: Compton Early College Finds Home Field Redemption Against Firebaugh

There's no place like home for Compton Early College, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 63-49 win over the Firebaugh Falcons on Thursday. For the Rising Phoenix, this counts as revenge for the 48-19 victory the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Travion Brown went supernova, rushing for 148 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Those 148 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jesse Priceno got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Compton Early College was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 392 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Compton Early College's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Firebaugh, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
