League recap: Gruver's offense goes off in victory

Gruver led 1A-2 Region I District 2 in scoring this week after putting up 40 points on Shamrock. Korbin Irwin threw for 139 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 10 yards in the win.

The Greyhounds made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,699 from 7,974. The improvement came about via a 40-7 victory over the Irish last week.

Gruver's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Victor Serrano chipped in 111 yards. Beau Blankenship helped Gruver's passing attack out by catching four balls for 48 yards.

Carson Williams was the best wideout in the league this week as Terry Felderhoff's team defeated Shamrock. Williams racked up five receptions for 80 yards.

Gruver's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Greyhounds feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Irwin has thrown for 1044 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Blankenship has 28 catches for 511 yards. Serrano leads the league in rushing with 275 yards.
