Columbus East suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Columbus East Olympians vs. Jennings County Panthers

If the Columbus East Olympians were riding high off their 65-31 takedown of the New Albany Bulldogs last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Columbus East had to suffer through a rough 67-30 loss at the hands of Jennings County. While losing is never fun, Columbus East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Jennings County is ranked ninth).

Caroline Frost was Columbus East's leading scorer, having posted six points. Madelyn Poe took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.

Columbus East bumped their record down to 6-14 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Jennings County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Columbus East will head out on the road to face off against Madison at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Madison has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for Jennings County, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Warren Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th.
