Baseball Recap: Saluda Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Strom Thurmond, Saluda was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Chesnee Eagles 8-6.

Saluda has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Chesnee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Saluda is taking a road trip to challenge Barnwell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warhorses have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Chesnee, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-1 victory against Landrum on the 15th.
