Softball Recap: Skyline Comes Up Short

Skyline came into this matchup off a tough 17-run defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Marcos de Niza Padres by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Coyotes of the 5-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2016.

This is the second loss in a row for Skyline and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Marcos de Niza, their record now sits at 3-1.

Looking ahead, Skyline will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Camelback at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Marcos de Niza, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-5 defeat against Chandler on the 27th.
