Basketball Recap: Rick Austin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Union City over Centreville

Union City was the 69-58 winner over Centreville when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Union City Chargers fell to the Centreville Bulldogs 54-49.

Union City lost on Wednesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Rick Austin, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 14 points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Decker, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 10 points and six boards.

Union City's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Centreville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-3.

Union City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centreville, they will face off against Schoolcraft at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
