Volleyball Recap: Cambridge Takes a Loss

Cambridge lost against Covenant Christian Academy back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Gryphons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. While the Gryphons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 25-18 in the first set.

Cambridge started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Cambridge still got an impressive performance from Sofia Shultz, who had nine digs and three aces. Kiana O'Keefe also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Cambridge and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Covenant Christian Academy, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Cambridge will challenge Pingree at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Covenant Christian Academy, they will square off against Forman at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
