Volleyball Recap: Caney Creek Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Caney Creek challenged Conroe on Friday. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Tigers. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

While Caney Creek had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23.

Marci Villegas paced Caney Creek's offense, picking up 11 kills. Villegas got some help from Marissa Solorzano and her 31 assists. Zuli Rivera controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Conroe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sarah Allen, who had 15 digs.

Caney Creek's loss dropped their record down to 14-25. As for Conroe, their victory ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 18-23.

Caney Creek has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Oak Ridge on the 21st. As for Conroe, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against The Woodlands on the 21st.
