Softball Recap: Wheeling Park Find Success

Wheeling Park played in-conference for the first time on Monday and got just the result they were looking for. They came out on top against the Indian Creek Redskins by a score of 9-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Brenna Tipton, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Kylah Cunningham also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Wheeling Park hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

Wheeling Park's record now sits at 11-14. As for Indian Creek, they dropped their record down to 7-12 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Wheeling Park will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Steubenville at 5:00 p.m. As for Indian Creek, they will head out to face off against Toronto at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
