Basketball Recap: Southwest Dekalb Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jackson Ushery and Aaron Burks

It was a proper cat-fight when Southwest DeKalb faced off against Tucker on Friday. The Southwest DeKalb Panthers took a 51-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tucker Tigers. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 58-49.

Despite the loss, Southwest DeKalb had strong showings from Aaron Burks, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds, and Jackson Ushery, who posted 13 points. Burks is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played. Thomas Glanton, III was another key player, putting up four points and seven boards.

Southwest DeKalb's defeat dropped their record down to 25-3. As for Tucker, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

Southwest DeKalb has already played their next contest, a 60-53 victory against Ware County on the 19th. As for Tucker, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-56 win against New Hampstead on the 19th.
