After each having a week off, the Archer Tigers and the Brookwood Broncos will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Archer is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Grayson just ended the team's four-game winning streak last Friday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 38-12. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Despite the defeat, Archer had strong showings from Jordan Do, who rushed for 114 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and Tyree Begne, who rushed for 127 yards while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.

Meanwhile, Brookwood waltzed into their game two weeks ago with five straight wins... but they left with six. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 43-8 victory over the Blue Devils. Considering the Broncos have won five contests by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Archer better focus on containing Brayden Tyson and Gary Chatman as the pair were huge in Brookwood's win. Tyson gained 158 total yards and two touchdowns, while Chatman rushed for 104 yards and one TD on only five carries. Chatman's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Bryce Green also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Brookwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 364 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.
Brookwood's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Unitas Baltimore, Xzavier Pfister, and Zayden Walters, who each picked up one sack apiece. Daniel Diggs was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss) and defending one pass.
Brookwood's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Archer, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Archer against Brookwood when the teams last played back in September of 2023, as the team secured a 34-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
