Baker has gone a perfect 10-0 against Davidson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Hornets will square off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Baker and five for Davidson.

Baker is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Spanish Fort, who was ranked tenth at the time (Baker was ranked 25th). The Hornets fell just short of the Toros by a score of 5-4 on Friday.

Lauren Mordecai and Maddie Stuart did some serious damage despite the final result: Mordecai scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Stuart went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was Stuart's first of the season. Kaylee Boddie was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Davidson's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 16-0 to Mary G. Montgomery, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Baker's loss dropped their record down to 20-11. As for Davidson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Baker took their win against Davidson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 23-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
