Soccer Game Preview: Austin vs. Sparkman

Austin is 1-6 against Sparkman since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Austin Black Bears will head out to challenge the Sparkman Senators at 7:00 p.m. Sparkman took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Austin, who comes in off a win.

Austin is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Elkmont onto the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Black Bears needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sparkman's offense. They lost 3-0 to Bob Jones on Tuesday. The loss was the Senators' first of the season.

Sparkman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Austin, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Austin came up short against Sparkman when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Austin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
