Basketball Recap: Maclay Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from George Hartsfield and Christopher Foos

Maclay was the 65-49 winner over Aucilla Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Marauders took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Tuesday.

Maclay's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Christopher Foos, who shot 40% from the field en route to 17 points in addition to six boards and four steals, and George Hartsfield, who went 8-for-17 to rack up 17 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Butcher, who posted five points.

Aucilla Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ben Faglie, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points Faglie has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Liam La Rosa, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.

Maclay's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Maclay will be taking part in a tournament against Bay at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. Aucilla Christian has already played their next game (against Ocala Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
