Volleyball Game Preview: Riverside Chargers vs. Ord Chanticleers

The Riverside Chargers are taking a road trip to square off against the Ord Chanticleers on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Riverside is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Nebraska Christian just ended the team's nine-match winning streak on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

While Riverside was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Ord also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Central City by a score of 3-1. The Chanticleers have struggled against the Bison recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Ord started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-11, 25-21.

Riverside will have to contain Payton Bruha as she made an impact in Ord's last game. She had 20 digs. Bruha is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Ord, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Riverside skirted past Ord 3-2 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
