After a string of six wins, Springtown's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 5-0 to the Burkburnett Bulldogs. The Porcupines were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Bulldogs' pitchers proved too tough.

Springtown's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-7-1. As for Burkburnett, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-10.

Coming up, Springtown will challenge Bridgeport at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burkburnett, they will host Castleberry at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Castleberry's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Burkburnett's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
