Soccer Game Preview: Hidalgo vs. Progreso

The Hidalgo Pirates will start their season against the Progreso Red Ants. Kickoff is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Progreso gave up the first goal last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Ants.

Their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

As for Hidalgo, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they had a phenomenal run, finishing with a superb 17-7 record.

Hidalgo might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Progreso in their previous meeting back in January. Can Hidalgo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
