Softball Recap: True Gospel Christian Comes Up Short

True Gospel Christian had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-7 to make it four. They lost 17-2 to the Triad Baptist Christian Academy Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-3 back in March.

As for Triad Baptist Christian Academy, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-4. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

For Triad Baptist Christian Academy's part, Kylee Chan-West made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Chan-West was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

In other batting news, Annabel Chan-West was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Ryleigh Collins was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. True Gospel Christian will welcome Calvary Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Grizzly are facing the Cougar at the right time seeing as the Cougar are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Triad Baptist Christian Academy, they will host Cramerton Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crusaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
