Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Lilly Watson and Maddie Schuster Lead Currituck County to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against StoneBridge, Currituck County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Northeastern Eagles. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-15, 25-27, 25-20.

Currituck County was led to victory by Maddie Schuster and Lilly Watson. Schuster had seven digs and six aces, while Watson had four aces and three digs. Those six aces gave Schuster a new career-high. Raegan Noblitt also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Currituck County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 25 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Currituck County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Northeastern, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Currituck County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Catholic on the 13th. As for Northeastern, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Albemarle School on the 15th.
