Basketball Recap: Elkhart Takes a Loss

The matchup between Elkhart and Mexia on Friday hardly resembled the 24-18 effort from their previous meeting. The Elkhart Elks were dealt a 70-37 loss at the hands of the Mexia Black Cats. The Elks haven't had much luck with the Black Cats recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Elkhart's defeat dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Mexia, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkhart will head out to challenge Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mexia has already played their next matchup (against Teague), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
