Volleyball Recap: Russell Comes Up Short

Russell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Southwestern Heights Mustangs. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Russell had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21.

Hayden Creamer paced Russell's offense, picking up five kills. Creamer got some help from Madeleine Middleton and her six assists. Middleton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Russell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-30. As for Southwestern Heights, their victory bumped their record up to 18-16.

As of now, neither Russell nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
