Football Recap: McClain Comes Up Short

McClain extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 3-6. They lost 36-14 to the Chillicothe Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 515th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 222nd).

As for Chillicothe, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.8 points over those games.

Cartae Ligon was his usual excellent self, rushing for 333 yards and five scores while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 60 yards. Andrew Hamman also deserves some recognition as he rushed for his first rushing yards of the season.

Looking ahead, McClain will welcome Hillsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.22 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Chillicothe, they are taking a road trip to take on Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers will need to watch out since the Ironman/Ironladies have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
