Softball Recap: Notre Dame (SO) Beats Louisville for Their Tenth Straight Victory

Notre Dame (SO) entered their tilt with Louisville on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Royals 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Aliyah Garcia made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Nadia Ledon was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Molly Coppola was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.

Notre Dame (SO) always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Louisville only posted an OBP of .300.

Notre Dame (SO) pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Louisville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Notre Dame (SO) will host Harvard-Westlake at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Louisville, they will head out on the road to face off against Sierra Canyon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
