Basketball Recap: Marian Central Catholic Wins Going Away Against Wheaton Academy

Marian Central Catholic won the last time they faced Wheaton Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes put the hurt on the Wheaton Academy Warriors with a sharp 60-36 win. The Hurricanes pushed the score to 55-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

Marian Central Catholic had a senior duo take command as Juliette Huff went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc to rack up 28 points and five steals and Abbey Miner went 7 of 9 on her way to 16 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. Huff's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Adriana Wrzos, who posted nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Marian Central Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Marian Central Catholic and bumps their season record up to 14-15. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points over those games. As for Wheaton Academy, they dropped their record down to 13-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
