Last Friday, Walther Christian Academy got the win against Parkview Christian Academy by a conclusive 13-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.
Isabella Ziupsnys made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Ziupsnys was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Walther Christian Academy got a big performance out of Selah Argueta, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. Isabella Rosado was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Walther Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .808. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but IC Catholic Prep ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hinsdale South, sneaking past 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since May 10, 2024.
Madelynn Dinino spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lexi Russ, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ariani Zito, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5.
