Baseball Recap: North Marion Huskies vs. Preston Knights

North Marion extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-7. They came up short against the Preston Knights, falling 13-1. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 6-4 to the Knights when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In other batting news, Preston got a massive performance out of Bryson McNew, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. The Knights are undefeated when McNew posts one or more home runs, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Thomas, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Looking ahead, North Marion will head out on the road to challenge Parkersburg South at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Preston, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Buckhannon-Upshur at 1:00 p.m. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bucaneers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
