Softball Recap: Anderson County Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Anderson County's offense. They lost 11-0 to the Gibbs Eagles on Friday. The Mavericks have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Anderson County's defeat dropped their record down to 24-14. As for Gibbs, they pushed their record up to 34-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Anderson County will square off against Cocke County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mavericks will need to watch out since the Fighting Cocks have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups. As for Gibbs, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Seymour at 6:00 p.m. Seymour has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.14 runs per game on average), something Gibbs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
