Softball Recap: Alpena Wildcats vs. Marquette Redmen
Alpena scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Marquette Redmen as the Alpena Wildcats made off with a 21-3 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
For Marquette's part, Charlye Swajanen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with a triple and a run.
Alpena's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Marquette, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alpena is on the road again on Wednesday to play Mt. Pleasant at 4:00 p.m. As for Marquette, they will challenge Escanaba at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
