Baseball Recap: Heritage's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Seymour last Saturday, Heritage came back down to earth. The Mountaineers fell just short of the Loudon Redskins by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The shutout was out of character for the Mountaineers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Gaven French spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Heritage's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-10. As for Loudon, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-14 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Heritage beat Loudon by a score of 10-0 on Tuesday.
