Basketball Recap: Dan River Finds Playoff Glory Versus Glenvar

With a playoff win on the line, Dan River rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They snuck past the Glenvar Highlanders with an 80-76 victory. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 55-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.

It was another big night for Jameer Reynolds, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was his 13th in a row with at least 16 points. Jesiah Lampkin was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Dan River smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 27 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Dan River has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.9 points over those games. Glenvar's loss dropped their record down to 17-8.

Dan River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-48 defeat against Floyd County on the 27th. Glenvar does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
