Soccer Game Preview: Meadowbrook vs. Colonial Heights

The Meadowbrook Monarchs will face off against the Colonial Heights Minuteman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Meadowbrook fell victim to Prince George and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Royals, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Meadowbrook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Prince George are ranked 89th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Colonial Heights, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Hopewell get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Colonial Heights as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

Colonial Heights' win bumped their record up to 6-8-1. As for Meadowbrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11-1 record this season.

Meadowbrook came out on top in a nail-biter against Colonial Heights when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Monarchs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Minuteman turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
