Volleyball Recap: Elida Takes a Loss

Elida extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bluffton Pirates. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Pirates when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Bluffton, their record now sits at 2-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since October 1, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bluffton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vanessa Cross, who had 18 digs and five aces. Those 18 digs gave Cross a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adelyn Althaus, who had six digs and two aces.

Coming up, Elida will be playing at home against Shawnee at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bluffton, they will head out to challenge Ayersville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
