If Southern Wayne wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played South Johnston, they should've done a better job of containing Cole Norris. The South Johnston Trojans came out on top against the Southern Wayne Saints by a score of 56-43 on Tuesday thanks in part to Norris, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and 12 boards. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 46% field goal percentage.

The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Johnson, who posted six points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rebounds (four).

Despite the defeat, Southern Wayne saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kairell Evans went 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points and five boards. Evans is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dorien Toussian, who had six points and six rebounds.

South Johnston's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Southern Wayne, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

South Johnston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-43 win against Smithfield-Selma on the 6th. As for Southern Wayne, they have also already played their next game, an 83-63 loss against East Wake on the 5th.
