The matchup between SouthLake Christian Academy and Gaston Christian wasn't particularly close, with SouthLake Christian Academy falling 54-38. SouthLake Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Gaston Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on January 5th.
Gaston Christian found their leader in underclassman Happy Arune, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 22 rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Arune has scored at least a third of Gaston Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Williams, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds.
SouthLake Christian Academy's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Gaston Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9.
SouthLake Christian Academy will take on Community School of Davidson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Community School of Davidson is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Gaston Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Westminster Catawba Christian at 5:30 p.m. Westminster Catawba Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
