Softball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

After flying high against Eastside last Thursday, Riverside came back down to earth. The Warriors fell just short of the Gaffney Indians by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since March 12th.

Mia Gallello was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. Madison Thieke was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for Gaffney, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Riverside is set to square off against their familiar foe Boiling Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Gaffney will challenge rival Dorman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
