Basketball Recap: Halifax Academy Comes Up Short

Halifax Academy lost against Harrells Christian Academy last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Halifax Academy Vikings were beaten by the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders 67-21. The match marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Halifax Academy still got an impressive performance from Landon Peoples, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harrells Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Antonio Mckoy, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Mckoy's evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zicareian Mcneil, who went 7 for 10 en route to 16 points and three steals.

Halifax Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Harrells Christian Academy, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-2.

Halifax Academy has already played their next matchup, a 73-55 defeat against Rocky Mount Academy on the 29th. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-29 victory against Faith Christian on the 28th.
