Volleyball Game Preview: Sandhills Valley Mavericks vs. Maxwell Wildcats

The Sandhills Valley Mavericks will head out on the road to take on the Maxwell Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Sandhills Valley turned things around against Medicine Valley on Saturday. They skirted past the Raiders 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mavericks have posted since October 3, 2024.

Meanwhile, Maxwell sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over St. Patrick's on Saturday.

Maxwell had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-8, 25-17.

Maxwell's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Sandhills Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-16.

Sandhills Valley came up short against Maxwell in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 2-0. Can the Mavericks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
