Basketball Recap: Flomaton Comes Up Short

Flomaton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monroe County Tigers. The Hurricanes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 58-47.

Despite the defeat, Flomaton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jacie Himes posted 24 points. Talaisjah Wesley was another key player, putting up eight points.

Flomaton's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Monroe County, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.

Flomaton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hillcrest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monroe County, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Southern Choctaw at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
